The moon always looks mysterious to me. I guess it is because of its wax and wane, always engaging in changes that give it a touch of mystery.
The wax and wane of the moon, the pattern of it, pretty much lies in the essence of everything in the universe. Through observing the chronological changes of the moon, one can find it closely related to how everything in life moves.
Specifically speaking, when one thing reaches its maximum, it would start to decline the next second. Lots of Chinese idioms talked about this universal pattern: 盛极而衰, 否极泰来.
