Symphony

As a devoted classical music lover, I once had the rare opportunity to photograph musicians during a rehearsal. I still remember being completely drawn in by the music, the atmosphere, and the interplay of light and shadow in the concert hall. Listening to those magnificent pieces while capturing the performance through my lens was an unforgettable experience.

In December 2025, I proudly joined the Shanghai International Choral League (SICL) as a mezzo-soprano. Having the opportunity to experience music both behind the camera and onstage has deepened my connection with it in ways I never expected.

This 2025 concert featured works by Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, and Antonín Dvořák. Of all the pieces performed, Mendelssohn’s Wie der Hirsch schreit: Der 42. Psalm moved me the most. When the first notes rang out, I was moved to tears by its beauty. It is almost beyond belief that music of such beauty exists.

Above all, my heartfelt thanks go to my sister, Jiexin Sun, who opened up a whole new world to me and made all of this possible.
